The Louisiana Council for Economic Education (LCEE) is a 501 (c) 3 statewide non-profit organization that works to provide workshops, training and resources so that Louisiana teachers might be better equipped to teach principles of economics literacy to students, K-12. Our goal is a financially literate Louisiana citizenry. We bring innovative programs like The Stock Market Game to teachers across Louisiana. LCEE serves public, private, parochial and home schools but we need your support to continue to bring our programming to Louisiana's teachers!

6th Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser
Golfers enjoyed great prizes at the 2008 Tournament!
The 2009 LCEE Golf Tournament was held at Pelican Point Golf Course. With unique economic challenges this year, LCEE counted on help from local businesses to recognize the need for furthering financial education in our state and step in to support LCEE programs.
LCEE... who we are, what we do...
LCEE
is a 501 c-3 non profit that works to provide workshops, training and
curriculum to teachers all across the state in an effort to help them
better prepare our students for the lifetime of financial challenges
they will face.
LCEE
also facilitates innovative teaching tools such as The Stock Market
Game, in an effort to engage students interest and broaden their
understanding of economic issues.
It is our belief that by equipping teachers with the necessary tools, we can influence Louisiana's future!
From the President's desk....
It is no secret that we find ourselves in uncertain economic times. Neither is it unknown that as a state Louisiana has long held the reputation for being one of the poorest in the nation.
Our goal is to provide teachers with the tools necessary to better teach our children. We believe that by givinginnovative teaching tools to educators we caneffectively arm Louisiana's students to be more "financially literate" making for a more prosperous Louisiana.
We know that economic principles and personal finance can be taught in conjunction with already existing curriculum and can cross content/subject areas. We have seen it work and test scores have proven our work effective.
Our job is to serve the entire state of Louisiana in public, private, parochialand home schools. This work is done underwritten by one small state grant. The task before us looms large, and we need your help.We know well of the current economic situation and that businesses are tightening their spending belts, particularly as related to charitable giving. However, the current economic situation calls fora greater understanding... it calls all Louisianans to be financially literate. Help us be part of the solution, help us better educate and prepare your children!-LGS
